Christmas was great. I love celebrating the birth of Jesus.

And I love spending time with my family.

I got a new car a couple of months ago, so all four of us piled in and took a little trip to see my aunt and her family and I drove.

The food was great; of course us girls played dominoes afterwards while the guys watched the football game. Lindsey is now a teenager and she drives me stinkin' crazy with her tantrums. What a drama queen. I hope I was never like that to my parents. And if I was... well, I need to apologize. That girl has definitely got some of mammaw's temper in her.

O well it was fun. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!

One final down. Three more to go.

We had our Sigma Tau Delta Christmas/ Induction Ceremony tonight. We had a blast. I just have to say that DBU has some of the coolest English professors in the country! We watched a musical movie tonight and during one of the songs two of our professors present got up and danced and it was hilarious! They are so much fun.

It was great to have that break from studying... but alas, I must study for my exam at 8 am.

You know how if you look up a word in the dictionary and you find multiple meanings of the same word? Well, here's the word of the day: snow. In a national dictionary the defintions are completely different than the Texas definition. Our definition: anything closely resembling slow. Basically, if it's white, falls from the sky and sticks, it's snow. Hence, most of our snow is really ice.

So we had Texas snow today. Because of it my Sigma Tau Delta induction ceremony was canceled, but unfortunately my classes weren't.

In other news, I am officially done with all my major projects this semester! You have no idea how good it feels. Actually, I can't truly appreciate it due to my lack of sleep because of these mentioned projects.

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted on here...

School has been hectic this semester... but it's almost over praise Jesus... that is until next semester starts... I have one more big paper for this semester and then I have nothing left but finals.

But now on a more sentimental note:

Starting in January I'll no longer be working for the after-school program that I have worked for the past two years. I love those kids and it's really hard to say goodbye. It's a bit of a shocker. I was under the impression that I could work through the summer before I'd have to give it up, by alas I school comes first. So I only have one more month left with these first graders who have stolen my heart. I won't be totally out of the picture because here recently I became the church librarian so I'll be up there on a volunteer basis to read to them and let them check out books once a week. But that's not the same... but I am so grateful for God blessing me with this experience even though it is coming to an end. I really do love those kids with all my heart. They have given me so much joy that I thought I could never feel.

Speaking of the library - I'm really quite excited about it. Growing up I've always wanted to be a librarian, but then God said, no I want you to do something else. But here I am, and it's just cool to that because I was faithful and I'm pursuing a career in teaching, which he has called me for, he given me that long desire of being a librarian, just not quite in the same capacity that I once thought I'd be in. But that's okay. It's really exciting. I have a lot of great plans for the library. Hardly anyone steps through those doors any more, partly because the librarian who just resigned and who offered the position to me hasn't gotten around good for years. But the other issue is that it's not up-to-date. Well, I am determined to bring this library into the 21st century!

Okay, that's enough for now. I probably need to head off to bed... walking with crazy old lady at 6 am.

Some people really get on my nerves.

Person A: a professor. Since day 2 of class she has been saying stuff that makes me want to scream but of course I don't say anything until I'm off campus or at least in my car(as if my car was some kind of force field.) She critiques too much and never sits back and evaluates her own attitudes. She's supposed to be teaching me how to teach. But how can she do that when she doesn't know how to teach herself? Huh? Answer me that one!

Person B: I'm not getting into specifics but some people have really gone off their rockers. Where do they get off telling my friends such hurtful things as they do? If I didn't know this person I'd tell them off to their face, but since this isn't the first time what good does it do? It's like talking to a wall. Actually, I would prefer to talk to a wall. Because then I would know up front to not expect improvement.

Some people will always disappoint you. Others will surprise you. But some will always disappoint. Just when you think this person has a chance of showing you that they've changed for the better they start talking all stupid. Just when you're about to compliment them they go off into some parallel universe where it must be acceptable to be obnoxious and inconsiderate of other people's feelings.

So onto other less infuriating news: I made up a new word yesterday: "mathemagical" - I was trying to say mathematical-logical.

And the most exciting news of the day: I did really good at bowling tonight. Actually, I bowled my highest game ever!

Well, I actually did good at the State Bowling Tournament this year. I got third place in Women's All Events. I was pretty proud of myself. But my finger is still throbbing. At one point I knew I was still alive by the fact that I could fill my pulse in my finger. I've had enough to bowling until Fall League starts I guess. You would to if you just bowled 12 games in two days. But I'm sure if it was someone else's idea to go...

"Many who do not know God and suppose man is basically good, ask: 'How can a loving God send people to hell?' But, once we see how utterly sinful man is and how perfectly holy God is, we will ask: 'How can a holy God allow sinful men into heaven?'"

I thought that was very well stated.

Okay, I've really got to get some sleep now. I have to get up and get ready for work in 5 hours.

13 inches... that's a lot of hair. I'm donating it to Locks of Love, the people who make wigs for people who have hair loss.

Yeah, it's shorter than shoulder lenght. I look really different. But I wanted it a little bit shorter because it's not quite drastic enough for me. Oh well, before I start school again I'll have to get it cut again if I want to continue to keep it this short (which I do) and at that time I'll let her know to cut it shorter than this time. But still, it's a drastic change from having long hair.
